SHAMROCK ‘KNEW’ AT 9/4: SHAMROCK saved his best and only bet of the day until the 9.00 at Dundalk last night. Patience paid off with Our Manekineko who romped home at 9/4.
It was worth the wait !!!
The nap OUR MANEKINEKO romped home at 9/4, going one better than a couple of weeks ago when he was a promising second.
That was SHAMROCK’s fourth winning nap from the last seven.
Hopefully, a follow-up nap today is on the cards at Thurles.
Only four runners go to post for the Thurles Racecourse Hurdle (not the most original of race titles !!) at 4.40pm and it presents an excellent opportunity for Val De Ferbet.
The seven-year-old finished a creditable length and three-quarters second to the Willie Mullins trained Tennis Cap at Cork last time out and should benefit from the combination of the longer trip and better ground here. He was a Grade 2 winner over this trip over fences when trained by Willie Mullins.
Main danger on the BETDAQ market is Jennies Jewel who is continuing to run well. Her three and a half length second to Vroum Vroum Mag looks pretty good in light of Cheltenham. She gets a mares allowance and is a big danger but overall is a horse that doesn’t win as often as her ability says she should.
