IRISH RACING IS BACK: It’s the first meeting of the week at Thurles this afternoon where the ground is heavy. SHAMROCK NAPS a LAY BET on BETDAQ today – he’s taking on Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.
Here I go again. Opposing a Willie Mullins runner – usually a disaster for me.
However, my eyes were immediately drawn to my old friend Urano in the 4.05 at Thurles – the BS Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle (Grade 2).
To say Urano has been a layers dream is an understatement.
He has form figures of 22222S1 and has tasted defeat in three consecutives races at 1/2, 1/3 and 4/7.
He finally came good here at Thurles last time winning his maiden hurdle (2f longer than today) by nine lengths with a faultless run but can I REALLY back him at around even money on BETDAQ for a Grade 2 with his profile? No Sir.
He’s a rare NAP LAY for me today, even this is certainly not the strongest Grade 2 you’ll ever see.
