ONLY JUST: SHAMROCK made it 5 WINNING NAPS from his LAST 7 when his Monday LAY NAP BLUEBELL was second at 9/4. But it was by the skin of his teeth as Bluebell was only beaten by a short head.
We got the lay bet up last night – but it was a desperate finish and we only came out on the right side by a short head.
That now makes it five winning naps from the last seven:
9 July RALLY (NAP) WON 6/4
10 July THE VATICAN (NAP) WON 11/4
11 July AL DESTOOR (NAP) 2nd
12 July HEIRLOOM (NAP) WON 9/10
13 July ABBAKOVA (NAP) 2nd
14 July SEA SIREN (NAP) WON 5/4
15 July BLUEBELL (LAY NAP) WINNER
It’s more of the same at Killarney tonight with a mixed card getting underway at 5.40.
In the opener Cocktail Hour sure looks worth opposing again. She is proving costly to follow and is now a maiden after eight starts with some short price defeats on her CV.
The obvious one here looks to be Il Palazzo for the O’Brien team. She put in her best effort to date last time out at Naas when second to Violet Hour and seemed to relish the quicker conditions on that occasion.
She looks set to better over a longer trip in time but even the extra 100 yards tonight will be in her favour.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Il Palazzo (5.40 Killarney)
