BALLINROBE BANKER: SHAMROCKS best bet of the day runs in the long distance maiden at 8.55pm on tonight’s card.
We got a timely reminder of Willie Mullins’s skill on the flat last week at Royal Ascot with Thomas Hobson and the champion jumps trainer can strike again with High Haven in the concluding maiden on tonight’s flat card at Ballinrobe.
High Haven finished first at the Curragh on debut but he was disqualified to second having bumped Mr Everest who was awarded the race.
So we have the rare opportunity of backing a previous winner in a maiden and High Haven should be even more effective over tonight’s slightly longer trip for which Pat Smullen is in the saddle.
Experienced jumper Powersbomb looks the danger but the trip maybe on the sharp side.
