No pressure then trying to find some winners at Punchestown this afternoon…..
1:15 Free Betdaq Trading Software On betdaqtraders.com Maiden Hurdle (4yo+, 2m, 11 runners)
There’s plenty of skinny ones on the card today so BETDAQ MULTIPLES might well be the way for many punters to go. A short priced favourite kicks off the BETDAQ sponsored card in the shape of Tycoon Prince trained by Gordon Elliott. He is making his jumping debut after a hat-trick of small field bumper wins. In three races he has had just seven rivals !!! He certainly looks the sort to do well over timber but I can’t be backing him at cramped odds for his jumping debut and an absence of 247 days to overcome. At similar odds, I’d much rather play on the place market with De Name Escapes Me who drops back in trip after a promising debut here at Punchestown when third.
1:45 Betdaq Serious About Sport Maiden Hurdle (4yo+, 2m 4f, 8 runners)
Hows Patsy has finished placed in both starts over hurdles and looks a better value play than BETDAQ favourite Ice Cold Soul who is making his jumping debut and who hasn’t been seen since running slightly disappointingly in a bumper at Fairyhouse in April.
2:20 Betdaq.com 2% Commission Handicap Hurdle (80-102) (4yo+, 2m 4f, 18 runners)
Very much the most competitive race on the card and again I’m heading to the place market for hopefully a top four finish from the top weight Court Challenge. This lightly raced sort, trained by Shane Crawley, has shown promise in maiden hurdles including when second at Sligo and might well be leniently treated here despite having top weight.
2:55 Download The Betdaq App Beginners Chase (4yo+, 2m, 5 runners)
Impossible to look beyond the talented Sizing John on his chasing debut. A Grade 1 winner over hurdles he ended last season by finishing second here to Douvan in the Herald Champion Novice Hurdle and has some very modest rivals to beat if handling the transition to the fences.
3:25 Betdaq.com 50 In Free Bets Beginners Chase (4yo+, 2m 4f, 9 runners)
No More Heroes was third in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle but may well have been an unlucky loser as was hampered at the last and finished like a train. Another one who should outclass his rivals.
3:55 Betdaq.com 50% Commission Refund Handicap Chase (0-116) (4yo+, 2m 4f, 8 runners)
Narrow preference for Just Get Cracking who won at Tramore last time out and can repel the hat-trick seeking Colms Dream who had to work hard for his course and distance win last time out.
4:25 Cash Out With Betdaq Flat Race (5-7yo, 2m, 9 runners)
Don’t Touch It should land the concluding bumper for Jessica Harrington. A reproduction of his course and distance second to Potters Point in May should easily prove good enough.
