Two good races from Cork this evening. There is also an evening jumps card at Roscommon.
6:35 Platinum Stakes (Listed) (3yo+, Class 1, 1m, 18 runners)
A hugely competitive race, although the withdrawal of both Pearl Of Africa and Indian Chief has shaken up the betting as both were prominent in the market. I’m now keen on the Dermot Weld trained Secret Recipe who has improved in each of his three starts and looks ready to take this step-up in class. He was particularly impressive at Killarney last time out when quickening up well to draw clear in heavy ground. The surface shouldn’t be as testing tonight and he looks of interest at around 8 on BETDAQ.
7:05 Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Give Thanks Stakes (Fillies Group 3) (3yo+, Class 1, 1m 4f, 6 runners)
Significantly less competitive race and should be at the mercy of Irish Oaks runner-up Chicquita who is around 1.30 on BETDAQ.
