CORK BIG RACE ACTION: A Group 3 and Listed contest on the Cork card tonight. SHAMROCK’s NAP on Monday was denied by a short head.
After Sunday’s 5/1 WINNING NAP not so lucky yesterday when the nap Almanaara was beaten a short head at Naas last night.
Two evening cards tonight at Cork and Roscommon.
Feature race at Cork is the Give Thanks Stakes at 8.25 for fillies.
This surely presents the Mick Channon trained Harlequeen with a gift-wrapped opportunity to win her first race since her debut. She has run mighty races since at both Epsom and the Curragh finishing third on both occasions in the respective Oaks and has no Minding or Seventh Heaven to worry about tonight.
Main danger Somehow was behind Harlequeen in both those races and I see no reason why that form should be turned around tonight.
In the Listed Platinum Stakes at 7.25, the Dermot Weld trained Rose De Pierre can maintain her unbeaten record.
