Poorman’s Hill will go off a very short price in the concluding handicap hurdle at 4.30pm but has the look of an incredibly well handicapped horse.
He was switched back to hurdles on a mark 22lb lower than his chase rating and readily won at Fairyhouse on Saturday suggesting that the resulting 4lb statutory penalty will be brushed aside before the handicapper has his say. It’s no surprise to see connections trying to strike whilst the iron is hot.
Take him out of the race and it’s ultra-competitive but if the handicap figures mean anything then surely they are shooting for placed medals at best?
