BLANK DAY IN IRELAND: But a busy day on Thursday with the start of the July meeting at Newmarket and a Leopardstown evening card.
No Irish racing today but plenty to look forward from tomorrow onwards including the July meeting at Newmarket and an evening card at Leopardstown.
Aidan O’Brien has made three overnight entries for day one of Newmarket and his best chance looks to lie with Housesofparliament in the opening Bahrain Trophy, a Group 3 over 1m 5f.
This will be the longest trip that Housesofparliament has tackled but on the evidence of his run in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot it should suit.
He finished fourth that day but was denied a clear run which almost certainly cost him a place.
Whilst most of his runs have come with cut in the ground he did run well on good ground at Chester when a close third to Viren’s Army in the BETDAQ Dee Stakes.
