SAVING BEST UNTIL LAST: SHAMROCK’S NAP on Wednesday runs in the closing fillies maiden at Bellewstown.
Racing resumes In Ireland after a short break since the Irish Derby. It won’t be anything like the price of Sovereign, but Aidan O’Brien should land the concluding fillies maiden at Bellewstown tonight (9.00pm) with South Sea Pearl.
Ridden by Donnacha, South Sea Pearl should relish this longer trip having shown reasonable form in her first two starts both over 10 furlongs.
She was staying on really well at the Curragh last time out when third to shock winner Telepathy and a reproduction of that form should be good enough here.
Main danger looks to the the Godolphin runner Elizabeth Way who was no match for Aidan O’Brien’s Barbados at Navan last time out but was plugging on well enough and is another that should be suited by the longer trip.
