DUNDALK NAP: Irish racing resumes at Dundalk tonight with an eight race card starting at 5.30pm.
Dundalk looks a tough challenge for punters tonight.
I’m not normally one to nap in a claimer as am a believer that the lower the quality the race the more unreliable the form generally becomes but the opener tonight looks a lot easier than some of the handicaps later on the card !!
I thought Intense Stylist looks a good bet. The Jim Bolger trained runner is a long-term maiden (16 without success) but has run some good efforts in defeat (five second places).
At face value she didn’t show much when seventh on her only start here – but was only beaten three lengths in a handicap, which in short, was a much more competitive race than tonight.
Palavicini Run looks a little short in the market. She did manage to win on soft ground at the Curragh but that looked a bit of a ‘project’ as she was well backed beforehand. She ran poorly next time (beaten 18 lengths) and her overall profile suggests she’s a horse that you wouldn’t be in a rush to back as favourite.
DAQMAN might chance a ‘double whammy’ – I’m not as brave and will settle for the win on Intense Style.
