PLACE NAP AT DUNDALK: SHAMROCK identifies a BETDAQ place nap on the card at Dundalk tonight.
I suspect, like a lot of punters, I’m guilty of not looking at the place markets enough. Old habits die hard and all that and generally I would prefer backing more horses in the win market than a place bet if I wanted additional options in a race.
However, sometimes a place bet really does stand out and a case in point tonight at Dundalk is Ionization in the fillies maiden at 7.05pm.
At the time of writing she is trading at around 3 for the place on BETDAQ which looks great value. She built upon an encouraging debut at Lingfield to finish third at the Curragh behind Mizaah and the second from that race, Fainleog, came out to win at Tipperary last week.
There’s a stack of lightly raced dangers and a couple of interesting debutants but I think we have every chance of collecting a place, even if there is a big improver in the race.
