Fairyhouse needed to pass an inspection earlier today.
Horse Racing Ireland tweeted: “Fairyhouse will go ahead today following a course inspection. The ground is currently soft to heavy, heavy in places.”
I thought that Lackaneen Leader looked a spot of value against the Willie Mullins trained favourite Lareena in the mares maiden hurdle at 2.15pm.
Lareena was a huge disappointment on debut when odds on at Clonmel but ran better at Tramore last time and looked to enjoy the more testing conditions which she will experience again today.
However, Lackaneen Leader also handled conditions well at Limerick last time and whilst no match for easy winner Crackerdancer I think the winner looks well above average for this grade.
Castafiore Park was beaten 19 lengths into second in a Limerick bumper but looks best of the rest on her hurdling debut.
