TWO NAPS FROM TWO AT GALWAY: Now for the third day of the Galway Festival on Wednesday and SHAMROCK bids for another winning nap.

Tarfasha (NAP) WON 2/5 followed on from Monday’s winning NAP at the Galway Festival.

It’s even busier today with an eight race card getting underway at 3pm.

3:00 100,000 Tote Pick Six Guarantee Maiden Hurdle (5yo+, 2m, 15 runners)

The Tony Martin trained Blackmail is likely to be short in the market here and possibly too short as there are a couple of sensible alternatives. One of those might be the Tony McCoy ridden Some Article who won the Goffs Land Rover Bumper easily at Punchestown but crashed through the rails at Leopardstown last time out. He remains of interest in maiden hurdles.

SELECTION: Some Article

3:35 Bet 10 Get 10 At thetote.com Handicap Hurdle (81-123) (4yo+, 2m 4f, 23 runners)

An impossible looking handicap hurdle in which stakes should be kept to a minimum. Point The Toes continues to run well and did well to take second at Sligo last time out. The extra half mile here will suit.

SELECTION: Point The Toes (WIN and PLACE)

4:10 40,000 Tote Jackpot Guarantee Handicap Hurdle (88-130) (4yo+, 3m, 23 runners)

Shanpallas was a very easy winner at Down Royal and looks to be on the upgrade. This is ideal ground for him and he should run well in another competitive handicap hurdle. I’m covering win stakes in the place market.

SELECTION: Shanpallas (WIN and PLACE)

4:45 Tote Win 24% Better Than Bookmakers Sp (Q.R.) Maiden (3yo+, 1m 4f, 19 runners)

Union Dues is a bumper winner who obviously merits respect on his flat debut for Willie Mullins. Alkali is interesting for Dermot Weld and has already achieved the most in the flat form book. The excellent Jane Mangan is onboard.

SELECTION: Alkali (NAP)

5:30 www.thetote.com Galway Plate (Steeplechase Handicap) (Grade A) (4yo+, 2m 6f, 25 runners)

The big race of the day and as usual an ultra-competitive field going to post for this handicap chase run over 2m 6f. Keep an eye on the non runners as the well fancied Carlingford Lough is first reserve and this will have an obvious impact on the market if running. Klepht comes here in good form and is still progressive over jumps. He won a Grade A handicap chase at Punchestown in April and is fit from a recent start on the flat at Killarney.

SELECTION: Klepht (WIN and PLACE)

6:05 Tote Trifecta Rollover Handicap (50-70) (4yo+, 1m 100y, 21 runners)

This is very tricky (theme of the day) and a speculative wager only is advised on The Alarm Clock who was a good second at Bellewstown last time out.

SELECTION: The Alarm Clock (WIN and PLACE)

6:40 Bet Online At thetote.com Handicap (60-95) (3yo, 1m 100y, 4 runners)

WHat a change !!! Just four runners. Indian Icon is preferred to the Dermot Weld trained Lucky Kitten.

SELECTION: Indian Icon

7:10 Tote Return All Profits To Irish Racing Maiden (3-4yo, 1m 100y, 6 runners)

The Weld banker of the week but the price will be prohibitive. Jayed Jidan.

SELECTION: Jayed Jidan
