The defection of Raymonda and Red Label leaves a nine runner race and a strong favourite in the shape of Psychedelic Funk who is the only 100+ rated runner in the race.
The Ger Lyons trained runner was an easy winner at Naas last time out when trying today’s mile trip for the first time. He had previously been placed in Group company at Leopardstown and at Naas again.
He should outclass this field. The biggest danger is likely to come from the Aidan O’Brien trained Pocketfullofdreams who has been kept busy and having her 11th run of the year.
Her maiden and only win to date came over this trip but she was well held in Listed company at Gowran Park last time out when the ground was soft as it is expected to be today.
Psychedelic Funk has only encountered soft ground once – but showed he could cope well when third at Royal Ascot in the Coventry Stakes won by Caravaggio.
