TURNBERRY LOOKS THE PLAY: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the 7.00 at Killarney tonight.
A tame effort from the NAP last night in a messy concluding race at Killarney so the naps sequence ended with a hat-trick.
It’s the Frankie Dettori show at Killarney tonight as the Italian pays a first visit to the track and colleague DAQMAN has previewed all his rides.
In the 7.00 Frankie may come up short on Mujid and in the week of the Open at Royal Portrush, Turnberry Isle looks a topical bet !
The Aidan O’Brien trained runner won a Naas maiden last season but has come up short this season so far – despite being kept busy. Six runs without success but he’s running well enough and this looks slightly easier. He only has a nose to find with Tony The Great after that pair finished fifth and sixth in a decent Curragh handicap last time out.
Market leader Highland Dress looked smart when winning on debut but then disappointed when a well held third at Fairyhouse without any obvious excuse.
Mujid (Frankie) won well over course and distance in May and then wasn’t given a hard time of it when hampered in a Limerick handicap subsequently. If you ignore that last run (and there are good reasons for doing so) then he should really be at least a full point shorter in the betting – and if Frankie wins the first then he’ll be all the rage anyway.
