KILLARNEY NAP: SHAMROCK’S Wednesday NAP runs in the 4.05 at Killarney.
They race at Sligo and Killarney on Wednesday but the best bet looks to be at Killarney with Barbados who looks a spot of value over the Aidan O’Brien trained favourite Keats in the 4.05pm.
Starting with Keats and there must be a question mark against him over the testing ground. His two wins have both come over quicker conditions and he was fairly well beaten on his first two starts which came on soft ground.
He did run a respectable third at Leopardstown last time out in a Listed race for which he started favourite but I don’t think he is the most reliable proposition to be taking a short price about.
In contrast, Barbados has proven form on soft (when second in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot last year) and comes into this on the back of a good effort when runner-up to Twilight Payment in the Group 3 Vintage Crop Stakes.
