SHAMROCK AT LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK looks ahead to this afternoon’s late starting Leopardstown card where the feature race is the Listed Heritage Stakes at 5pm.
The going remains soft at Leopardstown, ahead of their seven race card which gets underway at 3.30pm.
Feature race on the card is the Listed Heritage Stakes at 5pm which looks very competitive.
Onenightidreamed represents a stable that’s had three winners from their last eight and could be the answer to this. He’s better than Listed class at his best as he proved when winning Group 3 races both here and at the Curragh. He’s also pretty tough too as he landed the hugely competitive Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh back in 2015.
The soft ground is also a positive but there is a doubt and that’s his last run. He was a slightly lacklustre eighth of 17 at Naas last month and the hope is that the application of blinkers for the first time will rekindle some of his old enthusiasm.
He is closely matched on the formbook with Sruthan who is the top-rated horse in the race on official ratings but the biggest danger may come from the Dermot Weld trained filly Rose De Pierre who won her first three starts and then went on to run with credit in Listed company and Naas and here at Leopardstown.
