LISTED ACTION AT LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the Listed Heritage Stakes at Leopardstown this afternoon.
Listed action at Leopardstown this afternoon with the SPIN 1038 Heritage Stakes at 5.00.
It’s still very early days in the new season of course but it would appear that Aidan O’Brien has his string fairly well forward.
He saddles Amedeo Modigliani here who has the benefit of a turf run already. He finished third to Still Standing on the opening day of the season at Naas in the Listed Devoy Stakes and should come on plenty for that run.
That was his first start since Galway in 2017 so he was entitled to need the start and gets the tentative nod to win this.
Only tentative because it looks very competitive. As per usual Jim Bolger is in excellent early season form so Verbal Dexterity has to be respected along with the Dermot Weld trained Imaging who was a Listed race winner last year but seemed to do best on bottomless ground.
