IRISH RACING RETURNS: Limerick stage a jumps card today on heavy ground. SHAMROCK’s best bet runs in the opener at 1.45.
At Limerick the opening maiden hurdle has the biggest field of the day but that doesn’t put me off, as when you whittle the race down you realise that Moonlight Boy has an outstanding chance.
He is trading around 2.23 on BETDAQ at the time of writing.
He certainly wouldn’t be a bet judged solely on his jumping debut at Naas where he misbehaved big time. He unseated his rider down at the start, raced very wide and eventually ran out !!!
Thankfully he hasn’t shown any of those characteristics in two subsequent starts and his second placed effort at Gowran Park last time out came in a better looking race than todays.
He gets the vote solely on the quality of the opposition, although Tawseef ran well when third here last time over a slightly longer trip.
