LISTED ACTION AT GOWRAN PARK: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the evening card at Gowran Park tonight when the feature race is the Hurry Harriet Stakes, a Listed race for fillies at 6.30.
A competitive field go to post for the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes at 6.30 tonight at Gowran Park.
Aidan O’Brien is mob handed with five of the 15 runners and Shell House looks the form pick of his quintet. She coped well with the step up in class when third to Edelmira in a Group 3 race at Cork last time out but it might be Dermot Weld rather than O’Brien that holds the key to this.
Weld won this race last year with Along Came Casey and his two representatives this year both have lice chances.
Preference is for I’m Yours who stayed on well to win a Listed race over course and distance last time out and I see no reason why she shouldn’t go very close again tonight.
She still looks to be improving and is narrowly preferred to Weld’s other runner in the race Carla Bianca who was also a winner of a Listed race over this trip last time out.
Weld should also land the concluding maiden with Sierra Sun who ran a cracker on debut to be a head second to Circling at Fairyhouse. Circling has gone on to be be placed in Group and Listed company so the form looks solid and Sierra Sun can overcome a short break to land this.
