RIVER DEEP MOUNTAIN HIGH: It’s heavy ground at Thurles this afternoon and SHAMROCK is pinning his hopes on an Aidan O’Brien trained runner in the opener.
Irish racing is back today at Thurles where the ground is heavy ahead of their seven race card.
Best bet for me comes in the opening Leugh Maiden Hurdle at 1.10 and it’s the Aidan O’Brien trained Cradle Mountain.
He finished his flat career on a rating of 93 and made a pleasing debut at Fairyhouse when third to Tocororo. Today’s chief rival Swamp Fox was second that day but there was only half a length between them and I fancy the O’Brien rival to come out on top today.
Swamp Fox had the benefit of a prior run over the selection who also made a slight mistake at the last and could easily have finished in front of Swamp Fox otherwise.
Another major factor for Cradle Mountain supporters is that Barry Geraghty takes over from a conditional.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Cradle Mountain (1.10 Thurles)
