6/5 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK landed a winning NAP on Tuesday when RAE’S CREEK (NAP) WON the opener at Ballinrobe by an easy 9 1/2 lengths. He heads to Naas this evening where there is a Listed race on the card.
Nice and easy does it.
Rae’s Creek took to hurdling like the proverbial duck to water in the opener at Ballinrobe to land the nap and only bet of the day.
The feature race on the Naas card tonight is the Yeomanstown & Morristown Lattin Studs E.B.F. Stakes (Listed).
It looks an open renewal and the British raider Minalisa has to have a good chance after she finished second in the equivalent race last year – beaten just a head by fellow British raider Miss Lahar.
However, preference is for the Jim Bolger trained Tobann who seemed to really enjoy the fast ground when staying on well to win the Group 3 Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse last time out.
If this was over the same 7f trip tonight then Tobann would be a lot shorter in the BETDAQ market but I see no reason why she shouldn’t cope equally as well over six furlongs.
Aidan O’Brien’s Simply A Star should finally lose her maiden tag in the opener. She has finished the bridesmaid in her last three races but her effort last time when a half length second to Accepted in a Listed race at Tipperary should easily prove strong enough.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Simply A Star (5.55 Naas)
NEXT BEST: Tobann (7.30 Naas)
