SHAMROCK TIPPING KING: SHAMROCK made it TWO NAPS FROM TWO this week with KING LEON (NAP) WON 7/4 at Ballinrobe yesterday. As always the BETDAQ price was far more generous.
Very pleasing to land the second NAP of the week last night with King Leon WON 7/4 trained by Aidan O’Brien.
He was well backed in the end and made virtually all the running.
That followed up Monday’s NAP Rae’s Creek who won at 10/11.
It turned out to be a good night for Aidan O’Brien over the jumps as he also won the opener with Plinth – although this one didn’t really win in the style his SP of 1/5 suggested he might.
No Irish racing on Wednesday but it’s hard to keep Aidan O’Brien out of the news.
All eyes of course are on the next batch of Classic races and Aidan O’Brien’s Adelaide remains on course for a quick reappearance to take part in Sunday’s French Derby – the Prix Du Jockey Club at Chantilly.
Sunday’s impressive Curragh winner is among 21 horses going forward for this weekend’s Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly.
O’Brien also has Johann Strauss and Geoffrey Chaucer amongst the 21 entries but it is thought that Geoffrey Chaucer is more likely to run in the Epsom Derby a week later.
Adelaide won the Group 3 Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday by three lengths from Mekong River and is clearly thought worth chancing at the highest level.
