MATCH OVERVIEW:
We have a crunch game on Friday in Dubai between CSK and Sunrisers Hyderbad. Both sides have only recorded one win from their three games and the loser will sit bottom of the table heading into a big weekend. We have the first double header fixtures at the weekend, and you don’t want to go into those fixtures bottom of the table!
CSK will want to bounce back from a poor performance here last week when they conceded 175/3 and then could only managed 131/7 in response to lose by 44 runs. They managed to score 200 in their game before to that, but they conceded 216! That came at Sharjah where we have had some huge scores, but bowling is becoming a worry for them.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disappointing start to the tournament losing their opening two games, but they got off the mark on Tuesday with a nice win against Delhi Capitals. Their stars performed, with Warner getting close to 50 and Bairstow going past 50. Williamson chipped in with 41 too and Rashid Khan has a wonderful performance taking three wickets and only conceding 14 runs from his 4 overs. I would suggest that he has limited help, and if CSK want to win they will have to deal with Rashid and cash in off the other bowlers.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
At the moment, Abu Dhabi is the toughest pitch to bat on and Sharjah is the easiest – while Dubai is the toughest to call! We’ve seen a lot of changing conditions here, and even the bowlers commented after the game here on Wednesday that the ball was seaming and that they weren’t expecting that. The one thing that’s stayed true here is that it’s been tough to chase – we have had two ties, but no successful chase after six games. You win the toss and bat to try to get 175 – that’s the plan! The weather has been incredible in the UAE and we’re set fair for a full game again. It’s nice to have no weather worries!
RECOMMENDED BET:
I expect a very close game here, but before a ball is bowled I’m happy to have a small investment on Sunrisers Hyderabad at 2.0. CSK are a very solid side, but their bowling hasn’t been at its best in the tournament to date and I feel that is where the game can be won. In an ideal world, they would bat first as that seems to be an advantage here. If they were confirmed as batting first, I would increase stakes.
The Edge Says:
One point win Sunrisers Hyderabad to beat Chennai Super Kings at 2.0 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Dew has played a massive impact in the tournament to date, so definitely keep an eye out for that. It changes the game and makes it very difficult to bowl. We’ve had some big scores here, with the 201 tied game having issues with dew. Mumbai were able to chase over 12 an overs towards the end, it’s so difficult to hit the right areas for the bowlers when they struggle to grip the ball.
Even allowing for dew, it has still been difficult to chase here. If we do get dew, the team batting first benefit towards the latter stages too. It has proven profitable to get on the team batting first in the final five overs of their innings so far – that will probably be the winning tactic again here. I would look for trades on the team batting first and try to avoid being on the team chasing for too long – although don’t rule out momentum trades for short periods of time!
