THE EDGE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Friday’s 2nd T20 between INDIA v AUSTRALIA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We have a feast of International T20 cricket at the moment on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! Everyone is making their final prep as we count down to the T20 World Cup, and as preparation goes a tour of India is probably a strange one for Australia when you are hosting the World Cup! Conditions will be hugely different, but such is the scheduling issues in world cricket at the moment here we are. That’s not to say it’s a fantastic challenge; they get to play against the best T20 side in the world, however there are question marks about this India side heading into the World Cup.

After winning the T20 series in England, India crashed out of the Asia Cup and in general their bowling has been pretty poor. In general, their death bowling has been the best in the world – formed by all those pressure situations in the IPL, but they have been leaking runs for a while now. Even in Ireland, although it was the second XI, they conceded a high score and Ireland nearly chased over 200. Australia managed to successfully chase India’s 208/6 in the 1st T20 and they nearly had an over to spare.

India still have the awkward Virat Kohli question too. Two runs off seven balls in the 1st T20 was a terrible innings again – after a terrible tour of England and India crashing out of the Asia Cup – do they pull the trigger and drop Kohli? He’s had enough chances now and is a man under pressure. For Australia, they’ll be hoping to improve their bowling but their batting was superb – they’ll be hoping for more of the same there.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

It’s nice to be back moving around India now after the Covid19 pandemic. Unfortunately in terms of conditions, it’s hard to know what to expect here. This would be an Indian ground of choice for big games usually, but we last saw a T20 here in 2019 which is a long gap now. Because of issues with the IPL too, indeed Nagpur doesn’t even have an IPL side we don’t have any decent ground data to go off. There’s some fantastic history at this ground, so it’s good to see International T20 back – we’re obviously going back a few years here but the general vibe is you want to bat first. I’d keep an open mind on conditions though.

RECOMMENDED BET:

While we saw a very high scoring game in the 1st T20, we might see lower scores here. As I said above it’s hard to know what a par score will be, and looking at the ground history it seems you want to bat first – but I wouldn’t fully trust that given it’s been so long without a game here. Australia went very well in the 1st T20, and I’d have the sides closer together in the market here. India look too short at 1.65 given the question marks about their middle order and bowling. Australia just need to keep playing good cricket and they’ll have an excellent chance to win the series which would be a major confidence boost heading into the World Cup.

The Edge Says:
One point win Australia to beat India at 2.5 Betdaq Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Ground wise, I’m going into this game without a set plan. We just don’t have enough recent ground data to be confident on anything. Sometimes the best trade is no trade, and let’s see what happens during the game. From a player point of view, I’m keen to take on Virat Kohli – he is a man under pressure and his wicket is still worth a lot of ticks. Australia can get him out cheaply again. The Australian batting looks in brilliant touch too, and they can attacking these Indian death bowlers with success.
