SOUTH AFRICA v ENGLAND: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Friday’s first T20 between South Africa v England with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:
International Cricket comes like buses! We had no cricket for a short while after the Indian Premier League, but now we are fully back into the swing of things. Australia v India kicked us off but we have a T20 series to enjoy between South Africa and England! The build-up to this one has been slightly low-key compared to Australia v India, but once the action gets going we should be in for an excellent series.
England have plenty of questions to answer. They have an excellent young squad, are ODI World Cup Champions but they have almost suffered from a wealth of talent in T20’s. What is their best XI? Who should open and who should finish? I don’t think England themselves fully know the answers to these questions. It will be fascinating to see does Jos Buttler open or what role he takes up. Personally, I would have him opening the batting but let’s see what England do, he started in that role in the IPL but finished the tournament as a “finisher!”
England are generally involved in high scoring one day cricket games because their bowling is a little weak while their batting is strong. Jofra Archer should lead the line for England while Kagiso Rabada will lead South Africa. Cape Town is always an excellent place to play cricket, and we should have an excellent game with plenty of good trading options on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
The weather should be ok, but South Africa and Cape Town isn’t a place where you can fully trust the long-range forecast. I would highly recommend checking the radar an hour or two before the start, however it looks like we should get a game. Before the Coronavirus changed the world, Australia played South Africa here in February and scored 193/5 batting first. They won by 97 runs after bowling out South Africa for 96. At the start of summer, I would expect pretty good batting conditions. I think you’d want to be looking for at least 180 batting first, but of course with such a break you’ll have to take the first three overs to see what conditions are like.
RECOMMENDED BET:
England sometimes disappoint in T20’s however I believe that’s just because our expectations are so high. In fairness they can aim too high themselves and end up falling short when batting. South Africa should be a good test for them, but South Africa aren’t the side they once were and England should win this series with ease. I’m pretty confident England will have a very good tour, but they can sometimes start slow. I’d recommend keeping stakes low for this one, but England are still a value price at 1.66.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
I think we’ll see a lot of runs in this series. Not because of the batting on show but mainly because of the bowling. These two sides have two of the highest economy rates and with some excellent batting on display, we’re bound to see bat win over ball. Rabada started the IPL is superb form but he finished the tournament poorly and England should attack him early and try to eat away at his confidence. If they can do that the tour will go well.
From a trading point of view, I would be keen to get on the batting team as much as possible if conditions allow. Always keep an eye on the weather in South Africa though, but I would be very confident if England batted first in good conditions that we might see them get up to 200. That should present a good trade on England. I wouldn’t be afraid of going against England while bowling either, and the best trade of all could be England chasing a very high score at nice odds.
