MATCH OVERVIEW:

It’s a massive week at the Indian Premier League! We kick off the final week of the Group stage with Delhi Capitals taking on Chennai Super Kings in Dubai. There’s going to be a lot of high pressure games this week with the Playoff spots very open after the weekend games; however these two aren’t under pressure. They are clear at the top of the table, and we should have a high quality game of cricket on BETDAQ Betting Exchange here.

Delhi came out on top in a huge match against Mumbai Indians in Sharjah at the weekend. That win would have been a huge boost to them after Mumbai Indians beat them so many times, including the final, in the UAE last season. It was nice to land our bet, and we must remember that Mumbai Indians haven’t been at their best this season. This is actually is a massive game for both sides even without the “make the Playoffs” pressure because they will highly likely play each other in the Qualifier with the winner going straight to the final.

CSK have been by far the top team in the IPL this season though – they look like they have the complete package this season. I was worried about whether they would transfer their good form from India to the UAE but they have been excellent here. I’m excited for this game as we’ll find out a lot about who should be favourites for the tournament.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

I think it’s safe to say that Dubai has been the best batting wicket at the tournament now. We saw Punjab Kings chase down 165/7 at the weekend and RCB scored 153/3 in 17.1 overs to chase and win here too recently. This is the only ground that I would bowl first if I won the toss, and it looks like par is around 175. I would be a little worried trying to defend under that, especially if we got some dew. Both sides have impressive batting and bowling here, so it will be a performance based game. Just because a side scores a little over par doesn’t mean these two can’t chase it down – they are the two top sides.

RECOMMENDED BET:

This should be an excellent game, and I have to say I feel it’s very 50/50. Both sides have impressed me a lot and sure you only have to look at the table to see how good they have been. Delhi Capitals won a crunch game at the weekend when we backed them against Mumbai Indians, and they offer a shade of value again here. This is a game for small stakes as I feel it’s a 50/50 game and I’m just backing the side who offers the most value; and that’s Delhi at 2.02. I know it’s only marginal, but it’s worth a small bet.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

With the two top sides in action, as I said above this will be a real momentum game. Both sides bat and bowl very well, and I wouldn’t be massively keen to target any area of batting or bowling. Conditions might offer the best trade, and I have to say looking at the recent games here I would definitely give a slight edge to the team chasing. It’s probably best to wait until the innings break and see the score, but I wouldn’t mind backing the side chasing if they had to get around 170 or less. Based on recent games, that should be chased down. The only other angle here is taking on MS Dhoni under pressure. If he needs to score at a high rate, he’s worth taking on – however if he only needs to bat at a strike rate of 120ish then I wouldn’t open that trade.
