MATCH OVERVIEW:

New Zealand and England are back in action on Betdaq Betting Exchange as the sides attempt to complete a game in Christchurch. The 1st T20 was a washout on Saturday with – it’s like the weather gods new the first two T20’s were in the same location, and hopefully we have better weather this time around! I feel like New Zealand were in a very strong position, so it was unfortunate for them and us because we backed them – England only got 153/6 and things could have been much worse but for 19 off the final over. When the rain came, New Zealand would have only needed 50 off five overs which deemed as easy in men’s International cricket these days.

From a New Zealand point of view, they won’t want to change much – they will feel like they had the upper hand when the rain arrived. Obviously from an England point of view, they will know that they can bat better. I feel as well that England always start away tours quite slowly, and it could have been a case where they were able to blow away the cobwebs without losing a game with the weather. They went nearly a month without cricket, which is very rare for England given their packed schedule – it’s borderline unfair to the players – it’s not often they get a month gap; obviously most International cricket breaks for the IPL but that’s not a break for the players.

It must be good for England to get on with the cricket though; it feels like everything is revolving around the Ashes at the moment. Every question from the media seems to be directed towards the Ashes this winter.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

Hopefully the weather plays ball this time. If you believe the forecast, we should get a game in here – obviously the weather in New Zealand can be quite wet, so it’s wise to keep an eye on the radar. As I said in my preview on Saturday, we had to go into the 1st T20 with an open mind on scoring given we didn’t have much ground data – Pakistan were involved in the last three International T20’s here and they can be very hit-or-miss. The wicket had a green ting to it and New Zealand cashed in on that; they were well on top. It’ll be interesting to see what type of wicket we get here, but I would suggest whoever bowls first will have an edge.

RECOMMENDED BET:

We were on New Zealand in the 1st T20, and I didn’t see anything to change my mind. I also highlighted the fact that the South Africa price didn’t change much when they were playing the better cricket in their recent series against England. New Zealand have moved in a few ticks to 2.24 after their impressive bowling in the 1st T20, and while I’m not surprised to see them moving in, I still feel the 2.24 is worth backing. I would expect England to improve as the tour goes on, but in these conditions their bowling in white ball cricket lets them down in my opinion and I’d have this as a 50/50 game.

The Edge Says:
One point win New Zealand to beat England at 2.24 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

I would wait until seeing the wicket here before making a set in-running plan, however if it’s similar to the 1st T20 it’s clear that the best in-running strategy will be to support the side who bowls first. New Zealand took full advantage of the conditions in the 1st T20, and given England have leaked runs in white ball cricket I would say New Zealand have the advantage in that area!
