MATCH OVERVIEW:
We kick off another week of Indian Premier League action with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Delhi Capitals in Dubai. Both these sides had excellent wins on Saturday with RCB beating Rajasthan easily by eight wickets and Delhi winning a high scoring affair against KKR. Different skills will be required today in Dubai, with the boundaries very small in Sharjah and the wicket slightly tricky in the day game at Abu Dhabi in which RCB bowled first and chased a reasonably small target.
Rajasthan had a problem adjusting to conditions after playing at Sharjah as the players are in “a shot a ball” mode. Dubai will play a little differently, and it has been an advantage to bat first here. RCB might come into the game in a better mindset given the conditions in Abu Dhabi, but these are elite cricketers and they should be able to adjust. We should have an excellent game to be honest, both sides topped the table after everyone played four games.
It must be noted that RCB chased down their target without losing many wickets – the big question still remains for them – can they do it without Finch, Kohli and de Villiers scoring? For me, the jury is still out there. Delhi have been very professional thus far, and while they lack the absolute stars that RCB have in their batting line-up; they are probably a better side over all.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
As noted above, you definitely want to win the toss and bat first. We have had two ties here, and of course dew has had a massive impact on some games. Even allowing for dew, it has still been an advantage to bat first and I would certainly opt to favour the team batting first. Look for the use of rags for the team bowling, how many and how often they are using them – that will tell you if there is dew or not, and if there is dew then increase the par score. Once again, the weather is set fair.
RECOMMENDED BET:
RCB have been playing well this season, and I feel that they are definitely benefiting from the conditions compared to their home ground in Bangalore. As we have seen in Sharjah, those small high scoring grounds can turn into a lottery quickly. That being said, if Delhi can take early wickets RCB still have massive questions to answer in their middle-to-low order and that’s where Delhi can win the game. At 1.92, Delhi are worth backing.
The Edge Says:
Two points win Delhi Capitals to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore at 1.92 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
So far in games at Dubai the sweet spot has been to get on the team batting first towards the end of their innings. Let them build the base in the opening ten overs, and then jump on the trade when they can score freely with wickets in hand. That is the blueprint to play, and win, games at Dubai. Whether that happens today is another question, but that has been the play thus far.
Another key thing here has been dew, we’ve had a tied game of 201 with dew – while without dew you’d be happy to defend 165. Chasing is tough, so don’t stay on the team batting second for long.
