ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA T20: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews the second T20 clash between ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA on Sunday with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

The Edge has been a professional cricket trader for over 12 years, and we are delighted to have his columns on BETDAQ Tips. He provides his best bets on a points scale between 1 and 5, with 5 being a rare max bet.

Because we see so much action in-running on cricket, he will also provide some in-running strategies that could develop in-play and lead to some excellent value bets. The Edge covers all forms of cricket: Test Matches, ODI’s and T20’s but his favourite competition is the Indian Premier League each season.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We had a fantastic T20 on Friday night and we’re sure to see more drama on Sunday afternoon! Australia had the game at their mercy only needing 40 runs off 39 balls at one stage with plenty of wickets in hand but they threw it away with some very poor batting. The Sky Sports commentators were saying that it could be down to no cricket in six months but at the end of the day they are professional athletes and should have got the job done!

Australia traded 1.01 on BETDAQ in-running on the way to getting beaten, so some lucky England backer or Australian layer is enjoying their weekend with a massive win. As we saw on Friday night, there isn’t much between the sides and to be fair the market has adjusted to reflect that – but that fully. Australia were 2.14 heading into the 1st T20, and now they are 2.06 for this one. I still believe it’s 50/50 and I think Friday confirmed that!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

The pitch looked good for batting on Friday night and I don’t see that as an excuse for the poor Australian batting at the end. England got off to a great start and lost wickets in the middle – they should have got a higher score and Australia should have chased it. I think the team batting first wants to have at least 170 on board, and even then the chasing side would fancy their chances. Batting should be slightly easier in the afternoon with no lights.

Southampton has been unlucky with the weather this summer, but the forecast looks set fair for a full game on Sunday.

RECOMMENDED BET:

From what I saw on Friday night I don’t think my opinion should change. I firmly believe there’s very little between the sides and that we should really have a 50/50 market. Of course it’s very rare to see two teams at 1.99/2.0 so we have to have a favourite! I backed Australia at 2.14 on Friday night and given they traded 1.01 and lost, it’s OK to feel a little unlucky.

I’m happy to back them again here at 2.06. I don’t buy the no cricket excuse given the time to prepare, but at the same time they should improve from the time in the middle and just have that extra match sharpness. I see another very close game, but Australia have more talent in their squad and are worth backing at the odds. They should have won on Friday, and if just stay focused and play the same game they’ll win on Sunday.

The Edge Says:
Two points win Australia to beat England at 2.06 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

It’s hard to see a game very different to Friday night to tell the truth. Although both teams can improve. England started very well and they should have scored more runs. Australia fell away at the end too – I think conditions suit to back the batting side rather than the bowling side from a trading point of view however we saw too many mistakes on Friday night.

I think Australia will improve for the time in the middle, and although this is pretty easy given they are 2.06 – you can easily see them trading 1.8 or so at some stage while batting. I wouldn’t be keen to be against the England openers as Buttler looked in great touch on Friday. Perhaps it’s worth taking on the Australian tail as they weren’t great on Friday. Expect another very close game with lots of flip flopping favourite.
