THE EDGE: The Edge previews The Hundred clash between Manchester Originals v Northern Superchargers with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
Manchester Originals v Northern Superchargers
MATCH OVERVIEW:
It’s another weekend double header at the Hundred on Betdaq Betting Exchange this Sunday as we tick down the clock on the tournament. We open the day with a London Derby as Oval Invincibles take on London Spirit but my focus is on the later game between Manchester Originals and Northern Superchargers. This is the more important game of the day in my opinion with London Spirit out of the playoff race and Oval Invincibles top of the table. Unfortunately for Manchester Originals they are out of the playoff race too, but Northern Superchargers are very much in it. In that regard, this is an absolutely must win game for the Superchargers.
They started the weekend sitting in third spot, but they are only one point ahead of Trent Rockets and Birmingham Phoenix having played one game more. Those two sides are in action on Saturday, so by the time this game starts Northern Superchargers could easily be sitting outside of the top three. You could say that they are lucky to be here too; their game against Welsh Fire was rained off on Thursday night. Welsh Fire had them 26/5 in a 25 ball game and the rain came back two balls into a chase that would have been very easy for Welsh Fire. A point in that situation for the Superchargers was a complete bonus!
Manchester Originals have had major issues this season without their star man Jos Buttler, but they finally got off the mark on Friday night with a win over London Spirit. Let’s not get too carried away; London Spirit have been woeful too! Northern Superchargers have been very up-and-down this tournament; they need a good performance here.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
This is the last game of the Hundred this season at Old Trafford. Scores have got higher as the tournament has gone on. We’ve had first inning scores of 86/8 (chased), 145/7 (won) and 164/8 (won). You could easily argue that the last two games could have been chased – Manchester Originals came one and three runs short. I feel the best view here is to keep an open mind on scoring – we have had some proper blowout scores from Northern Superchargers with their collapses and then that Manchester Originals middle order has been unreliable.
RECOMMENDED BET:
It’s no surprise to see Northern Superchargers as favourites here. They haven’t been reliable with their up-and-down performances but they have been better than Manchester Originals. Ben Stokes has come into the side now so they have a pretty strong batting line-up now. I still want to be against that Manchester Originals middle order, but I do feel this is a game for small stakes. It’s easy to pick holes in both sides to be honest, but the 1.71 on Northern Superchargers is worth a small bet.
The Edge Says:
One point win Northern Superchargers to beat Mancheser Originals at 1.71 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
With the trend at the Hundred being quite low scores this summer and two unreliable batting sides, I wouldn’t be very confident opening a trade while either side are batting. That being said, you’d have to have more confidence in the Northern Superchargers compared to the Manchester Originals. Batting first here this season has paid off, however as I said above the two losses came very close – I wouldn’t say batting or bowling first is an edge to be honest based off what we’ve watched. I do feel the best in-running trade will be taking on the Manchester Originals middle order.
