THE EDGE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Sunday’s 4th T20 between PAKISTAN v ENGLAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MATCH OVERVIEW:
We’re back in Karachi on Sunday afternoon as the Pakistan v England T20 series continues on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. So far we’ve had a very entertaining series with some fantastic batting. England took a 2-1 lead on Friday with some wonderful batting in the first innings. They posted a total of 221/3 and even at a high scoring ground, they completely batted Pakistan out of the game. I’m sure many cricket traders would have fancied Pakistan to chase it down however given they chased England 199/5 in the second T20 without even losing a wicket!
The big difference between the sides so far this series has been the middle to low orders. England’s looks very strong and full of confidence – the new players have come into the side with a bang and settled well. While Pakistan have issues in that middle order – in fairness they have had these issues for a while now and it has to be a major worry heading into the World Cup. If the top four don’t get huge runs they tend to struggle, and you wonder where the late hitting is coming from too. Given they have injuries to their best bowlers, the spotlight is going to be on their middle order now.
England will be hoping to repeat their performance here on Friday – they posted a huge total and then the bowlers did a fantastic job. Especially considering this ground favours chasing too. Pakistan just keep to focus on not losing early wickets but they also need to find a way to stop England hitting boundaries. Will Jacks, Ben Duckett and Harry Brook looked full of confidence on Friday. Indeed, Harry Brook has been incredible and is peaking right at the perfect time before the World Cup. It was great to see himself and Duckett score their maiden International T20 50’s on Friday.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
This is the fourth and final game here before we move to Lahore for the final three T20’s. We know conditions well by now, and pretty much everything has gone as you would expect. While we have had a huge gap in the International calendar here because teams wouldn’t tour Pakistan, we did know from the Pakistan Super League that this is a high scoring ground. We also know there’s a big edge chasing, however we also saw what happens when you take the scoring to the next level in the first innings like England did on Friday. I’d expect another high scoring game here, and if we don’t see 200+ posted we’ll likely see another successful chase.
RECOMMENDED BET:
Pakistan started the series 1.7 favourites, after England impressively won the first T20 they moved out to 1.8, and after the wide margin win from England on Friday they have moved out to close to 1.9 now. To be honest I’ve had the sides pretty close to 50/50 for every T20 so far – there’s a number of factors to be honest. Obviously chasing is a big advantage here, but we have two bowling line-ups that do go for runs, and then both sides have their flaws too. I just feel when you look at the England side at the moment, they have far more confidence than Pakistan – especially in that middle order so I’m happy to back England again.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
For the first time in the series, getting on the chasing side didn’t work out – however England did post a huge score. I would expect another high scoring game here again, and I wouldn’t spend long looking for trades on either bowling side. I’m very happy to support both batting sides given conditions, except I would definitely lower stakes when the Pakistan middle order come in. They need the top order to score the runs. It seems a no brainer to support England when batting here, and that should be the best trade in-play.
