MATCH OVERVIEW:
Barbados Tridents and Guyana Amazon Warriors do battle again very quickly. They met each other on the first day back to the Brian Lara Stadium on Tuesday, and the fixtures just fell that there wasn’t much of a gap. Guyana won that game easily by bowling Barbados out for 92! At one stage they actually had them 27/8! Barbados will want quick revenge, but Guyana performed well again last night when keeping the Zouks down to 109/7 off their 20 overs.
Guyana have the advantage of playing the night game twice since we returned to the Brian Lara Stadium and they will know conditions well. After winning so impressively last night Guyana moved into second ahead of the Zouks on net run rate, although second and third meet in the Playoffs so it doesn’t make much difference where they finish. This is a huge game for Barbados. If they lose their tournament is over; however even if they win their final two games they still might not make the Playoffs. In truth, they have been very poor and their squad just hasn’t worked well.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
Batting in the night game has been a disaster almost the whole tournament. Bar a few wonderful individual innings, everyone has struggled and we’ve had some very low scores. Guyana have bowled first on the last two nights and they had Barbados 92 all out and the Zouks 109/7. Their bowling has always been good and it has generally been their batting that has let them down. They are timing their run well and coming into form nicely – I would expect a pretty low score from Barbados again if Guyana are in the same form.
Thankfully we’ve had no weather worries for the late games and hopefully that stays the same. I would suggest that a par score is probably around 140 on the deck given conditions. That would certainly be tricky to chase – but clearly sides have had a problem even reaching a score like that in the first innings.
RECOMMENDED BET:
I’m surprise Guyana are as big as 1.68 here. Barbados have been very poor over all in the tournament and they were hammered by Guyana on Tuesday. Their bowlers are hitting form just at the right time and they understand conditions here. It was very tough to bat in Guyana last season and that suited them – as the pitches get older and more used they seem to be getting better. The Barbados batting has been poor and they have some really weak bowlers. It’s just a case of seeing of Rashid Khan and teams know they’re going to get four to eight very weak bowlers later on. Guyana win for me and I’d have them ten ticks shorter.
The Edge Says:
Three points win Guyana Amazon Warriors to beat Barbados Tridents at 1.68 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Once again the trading strategy has to focus on batting conditions. Wickets have never been far away in the night games and it is clearly easier to look for trades on the bowling team rather than the batting team. For me the Guyana batting is stronger than Barbados, but that’s only because Barbados have been so poor. Guyana aren’t exactly bombproof with the bat either.
I touch on this yesterday but it’s worth repeating again as we saw the same thing happen last night too. Naturally with tough batting conditions you want to be on the team batting first because they get best use of conditions as it gets tougher to bat. However, because it’s so difficult they can’t seem to set a target and the game is basically over after the first innings. I feel you always want to be on the bowling side in the late games in the first innings; but I must stress apart from Rashid Khan I really don’t like the Barbados bowling and they have conceded far too many runs. I would be very keen to get on Guyana if bowling first.
