CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews the Caribbean Premier League match on Tuesday between Guyana Amazon Warriors v Barbados Tridents with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

The Edge has been a professional cricket trader for over 12 years, and we are delighted to have his columns on BETDAQ Tips. He provides his best bets on a points scale between 1 and 5, with 5 being a rare max bet.

Because we see so much action in-running on cricket, he will also provide some in-running strategies that could develop in-play and lead to some excellent value bets. The Edge covers all forms of cricket: Test Matches, ODI’s and T20’s but his favourite competition is the Indian Premier League each season.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We’re back at the Brian Lara Stadium as the Caribbean Premier League enters its final section of the tournament! The late game is Guyana Amazon Warriors against the Barbados Tridents in a massive game for both sides. They would have had an eye on the result between Trinbago and Jamaica earlier as Jamaica sat between these two in the table before today and that was their game in hand. Neither side have been very impressive to date, but Guyana have collected more points with three wins while Barbados have only managed two from seven.

Barbados have a stronger side on paper than on the field. They just haven’t performed well this season and their side hasn’t worked. They have some big star names, but they haven’t had the support they need and their bowling has been poor. Guyana have really struggled when batting although they did pull off an excellent chase against St Kitts in the final game at Queen’s Park Oval. Let’s not forget that St Kitts are bottom of the table though and have been poor. I don’t expect a high quality game here, but there’s bound to be plenty of drama.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

Touch wood we have had no weather worries in the late games thus far and hopefully that continues. After a break from action here, we should get an idea what conditions will be like here by looking at the early game and seeing what happened there.

The average score batting first in all the rain not effected by rain was 149. However this comes down when you take out the early games. The average score batting first in the late game was 135. The highest score was 153/9 on the first day of the tournament while the lowest score was 118 all out. I think 135 is a pretty reasonable score, although it might not be par on the first day back. Batting conditions have been very tough in the late games and anything over 145 will be tough to chase.

RECOMMENDED BET:

It’s not a surprise to see the two sides close together in the market. They have both been disappointing and we will no doubt see plenty of mistakes throughout the game. The stakes should be kept small on this game, but I like Guyana here at 1.94. They haven’t been at their best this season after winning all their games last season bar the final; but they have shown a lot more than Barbados and they are the better value bet at 1.94. Barbados have no many weak links in their bowling line-up and when scores are low, that’s what loses games.

The Edge Says:
One point win Guyana Amazon Warriors to beat Barbados Tridents at 1.94 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

You won’t need as long to take a look at conditions for this one because we’ll have to benefit of seeing the first game. However don’t forget that batting has been tougher in the late games so adjust a little for that.

I expect a pretty low quality game here with mistakes from both sides, so you will have to pick your trades carefully. It’s tough to commit to a trade while either side is batting given how they have batted – pick the momentum trades to get in and outs quickly. Guyana have the better bowling line-up for me. I think Barbados have bowlers that you want to have in your favour like Rashid Khan but their weaker bowlers have gone for runs so that will present a lot of opportunity in-running too.
