3rd T20 INDIA v ENGLAND: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s 3rd T20 between INDIA v ENGLAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

All eyes might be on the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday in the UK, but all of India will be tuning in to see the 3rd T20 as India roared back to win the 2nd game on Sunday after England hammered them in the 1st T20. As it’s the week of the Cheltenham Festival, we benefit from all bets being 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange between Tuesday and Saturday! That also takes in the 4th and 5th T20’s too which is great. We have had some excellent cricket so far, and this game should be another cracker.

As we are staying at Ahmedabad, we have a fair idea what to expect here. So far the side bowling first has had a definite advantage in my opinion. I know 164 is still a decent score in a T20; however over the two games here now you can see a clear difference in strike rates between batting first and second. I think it’s a no brainer what to do for the captains at the toss, especially with the chance of dew too. Eoin Morgan said there was no pace in the pitch, and that has certainly been an issue here in the first two games and the Test series, it has been very tricky to bat.

India bowled and batted well, and they will be hoping for more of the same. England bowled much better in the 1st T20 but they only managed to score 34 in the last five overs batting first and I feel that is where they lost their chance. You simply have to do better than that. In fairness to England they usually do, they just didn’t fire. The market has moved back to having India favourites, but I don’t see them between the teams and we should have another great game.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

As I said above, the pitch hasn’t exactly helped shot making here. Of course after all the work, it will take time to bed in. I assume the groundmen would like a wicket that’s good for batting as Indian cricket fans love runs but for the time being there’s been a lack of pace in the wicket, two-paced at times and has helped the spinners too. It hasn’t been unplayable like the Test series, but this game will be on a red soil pitch on the square and there is a big chance that it turns. We’ll just have to wait and see, but I wouldn’t be going into this game expecting a big score. There was no dew on Sunday, but obviously a dew will make it tough for the bowlers too – I feel the best advice is to go into the game with an open mind and assess the pitch in the opening three overs. I would lean towards expecting a bit of spin and it being tricky to bat.

RECOMMENDED BET:

India were well on top on Sunday, especially keeping England to just 34 runs in the final five overs. That was impressive, and they might also get a pitch that suits them more today too. All that being said, I feel the market has moved India in too much after that win. I think based on what we’ve saw here that there isn’t much between the teams at all. Based on that, England look good value at 2.2 however I will be keeping stakes small before the off here as I feel we will get a tricky wicket and chasing could be an advantage – this game seems to be one for in-running rather than pre-off.

The Edge Says:
One point win England to beat India at 2.2 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

There’s a lot of angles that could happen here, and we should have plenty of swings in-running. It’s great to have 0% Commission on this great match! My main angles are focused on what the pitch will be like and how tricky batting will be. Morgan said after Sunday’s game that this match will be on a red soil wicket on the square and he expects it to turn. That might favour India, but I’d also want to be on the team bowling first. I know that sounds wrong to the old fashioned cricket fans who “win the toss and make best use of conditions” but so far both sides have struggled batting first and chasing a lower score is easier. Usually in T20 on a tricky wicket teams aim too high and fall short. I can easily see that happening again here.

India did very well in the middle overs and the death overs on Sunday, and England must to do better with the bat there. Roy looks in excellent touch, and he looks worth supporting again. I’d close out for a red if you supported him and he got out though, as although this England batting is strong he has got them off to good starts twice and they’d be under big pressure without him. The India middle order looks rock solid too, and I’d be keen to support them. I can see a lot of in-running swings in this game, so it could be a very busy afternoon.
