MATCH OVERVIEW:
We have a fantastic T20 series decider on Tuesday in Indore on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! As we all know, a lot of focus will be on this India batting line-up heading into the T20 World Cup. It’s only natural given the wealth of talent they have and all the eyeballs on the IPL! South Africa would take huge confidence from a series win against India though, even in different conditions. Somewhat strangely as the T20 World Cup is just around the corner, this series is followed by an ODI series next week! I’m sure we’ll have another debate on the global International fixture list then.
We’ve pretty much seen everything so far this series. We started with an Indian collapse and South Africa only needing to chase down 106/8 which they did so in 16.4 overs. We then saw the polar opposite at the weekend with India scoring 237/3 and while South Africa did manage 221/3 in a high scoring game, it wasn’t enough to win. On paper, this Indian batting line-up is exceptionally exciting – we have a lot of young IPL stars who know how to deal with pressure. It’s no wonder that Kohli’s place is under pressure in the side.
Even though we’ve seen a range of scores and results so far this series; I doubt either side will want to change much. We’re getting very close to the World Cup now, and the time for resting players isn’t now. I would expect very strong XI’s – possibly the same XI they start the World Cup with. It will be interesting to see how South Africa get on – they are weaker than years gone by, but they still have a lot of talent in that squad.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
We finish the series at Indore, and this hasn’t really been a popular ground for Indian International games. This will only be the third International T20 here – the first two were against Sri Lanka too so not really glamorous fixtures. To be honest, those games won’t give us much idea on what to expect here. India recorded two heavy wins – the first inning scores were 260/5 (for India) and then Sri Lanka scored 142/9 which was chased in 17.2 overs. For the second of those games you have to go back to 2020, so a long gap here really and with Covid19 added into the mix, I just wouldn’t have a set opinion on whether to expect runs or wickets. Keep an open mind here.
RECOMMENDED BET:
We have already seen the highs and lows from both sides this series. When I look at this final game I just expect another close game. I know India should be the favourites in their home conditions, and there’s no getting anyway from the fact that they are an exciting side, however I just don’t agree with the market here. I would have the sides closer together, and I’m happy to be on South Africa at 2.6 or bigger. Their batting has looked good pretty much all “English” summer and I know they have had their poor moments, but that’s every International team these days. I think we’ll see plenty of action with South Africa favourites at some stage – hopefully from an Outright point of view they win.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Heading into the deciding game, it’s actually hard to fully form an in-running strategy. Knowing what type of wicket we are likely to get is such a key and we just can’t say for sure here. I would keep stakes very small early doors as you get a feel for conditions, and then possibly trade as normal in the chase when you have a good idea what a par score is by looking at the wicket. Player wise, it has been profitable to take on Virat Kohli this year but he did score 49 off 28 balls to finish not out the weekend – I’d stay away from that trade today with conditions unknown too. Miller played an incredible innings at the weekend, and if South Africa bat first and he’s there at the death it would be worth supporting him.
