MATCH OVERVIEW:
The Caribbean Premier League moves back to the Brian Lara Stadium for the final section of the tournament on Tuesday and we kick off the day with Jamaica Tallawahs against the Trinbago Knight Riders. Jamaica put in an excellent performance in their last game against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, however it must be considered that St Kitts sit bottom of the table with only one win from seven games. This is a massive game for Jamaica though as they find themselves in mid-table and this is their game in hand.
They will have to play extremely well to beat this top class Trinbago side who have won all six of their games so far. They had a massive wobble against Barbados Tridents in their last game but they came through at the end like Champions do. Pollard really pulled it out of the fire with 72 off 28 balls! Jamaica have been really inconsistent this tournament and I would expect this impressive Trinbago side to beat them.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
We have had some weather issues in the early games so be on the lookout for showers on the radar. We haven’t lost a game, although we have had some very short chases. It’s always helpful to be on the chasing team when the bowling side has a wet ball.
This is the first game back here after the break at Queen’s Park Oval. Batting was really difficult but slightly easier in the early games. The average score batting first in all the rain not effected by rain was 149. The highest first inning score was 185 by the Trinbago Knight Riders and the lowest score was 118 all out. Because of the rain interuptions in the early game, the average score over the three completed early games was 172 so you can see how the second game brings the average down.
RECOMMENDED BET:
Trinbago came very close to losing in their last game, however they pulled through and won in the end. I’m surprised to see them as big as 1.72 to beat this inconsistent Jamaica side who have been struggling to bowl all competition. In fairness to Jamaica, they did bat really well in their last game at the Queen’s Park Oval however I’m not reading too much into that game as St Kitts are bottom of the table and have been poor in general.
When the sides met here earlier in the competition, Trinbago kept Jamaica to 135/8 and chased it easily. I expected to see Trinbago closer to 1.6 here and I’m very happy with the 1.72.
The Edge Says:
Three points win Trinbago Knight Riders to beat Jamaica Tallawahs at 1.72 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
As this is the first game back here after the break, definitely spend the opening overs seeing how the pitch plays. It was tough to bat here but it was easier in the early games and it was actually tougher to bat at the Queen’s Park Oval! I would suggest a par score might be around 160 for today without seeing conditions at the time.
Jamaica have bowled reasonably poor this tournament so I wouldn’t mind supporting Trinbago while batting. They put up the highest score here the only time they batted first. They also have a stronger bowling line-up than Jamaica so look for opportunities when Trinbago are bowling – they kept Jamaica to 135/8 here when the side met.
