THE EDGE: The Edge previews The Hundred format game between London Spirit v Southern Brave with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MATCH OVERVIEW:
The Hundred continues on Tuesday with two sides under pressure as London Spirit take on Southern Brave on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. It’s still very early days in the tournament of course, but both sides are on the backfoot. London Spirit lost their opening and lost a game to the weather, while Southern Brave have lost two of their opening three games. Southern Brave are probably more behind in that sense with only one win from three games, and their squad looks pretty light on paper to be honest.
London Spirit were involved in a thriller at Lord’s – it looked like they had posted a low score at 131 all out but Oval Invincibles only chased it with one ball to go while seven down! Their batting must do better, and you have to be worried about them in that department – they definitely lack a star with the bat. Southern Brave seem to have issues with the bat and the ball! They couldn’t chase down 133/8 in the first game of the tournament, and they also then conceded 201/3 in their last game. The win over the Welsh Fire is hardly anything to write home about because they have historically been very poor in the Hundred.
So, an interesting game awaits. One that both sides need to win. You can say that both these sides lack a star to lead them, but the Hundred is suffering from a lack of overseas stars in fairness. In my opinion, it’s very early but I wouldn’t expect either side to make the playoffs. Perhaps the winner of this will have a chance though, while the loser will struggle towards the bottom of the table.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
We’re back at Lord’s again, and we had a very close game here last week. As I mentioned above, London Spirit posted 131 all out and Oval Invincibles needed 99 balls to chase it down, losing seven wickets along the way. I wouldn’t go into this game expecting a very high scoring game – the boundaries are quite big at Lord’s anyway and if you’re batting first 145 is a nice target to aim at.
RECOMMENDED BET:
I have to say neither side make huge appeal looking at their squads. Their batting lacks a little bit of star quality, and we should have a very close game. I like London Spirit at 2.06 because the Southern Brave have looked pretty limited so far. Their bowling went to pieces under pressure in their last game too. This is definitely a game for small stakes but I wouldn’t have Southern Brave odds on.
The Edge Says:
One point win London Spirit to beat Southern Brave at 2.06 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Given the batting conditions at Lord’s and both batting line-ups, I feel this is a game that you mainly want to be looking for trades on the bowling side. I couldn’t trust the Southern Brave bowling after what I’ve watched from them, so the game could well be decided by London Spirit with the ball. As I said above, this is definitely a game for small stakes but supporting London Spirit with the ball seems a nice angle here. I can see plenty of flip-flops in this game because both sides have plenty of errors in them!
