INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Rajasthan Royals v Chennai Super Kings on day four of the IPL. The preview includes a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:
It’s Day 4 at the Indian Premier League and we move to Sharjah! This will be the first game here and it completes the grounds that will be used in this season’s tournament. After today we should have a good idea what to expect from each ground throughout the IPL. Sharjah has hosted IPL games before and we generally see a lot of sixes. It’s a reasonably small ground and we could get dew which makes bowling very tricky.
CSK started their tournament with an excellent win over the Mumbai Indians on Saturday afternoon. They chased down 162/9 with ease but there was dew and that made chasing easier for CSK. They bowled well though and if they can keep du Plessis and Rayudu in the same form throughout the tournament they will win a lot of games.
This is the Rajasthan Royals first game of the tournament, however they will have plenty of experience with dew as their ground in India is one of the grounds that experiences dew more than others. They have a lot of big names in their squad; Steven Smith, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, Tom Curran, David Miller and Ben Stokes. You could say they are lacking on Indian talent this season, and it’ll be very interesting to see their playing XI.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
As this is the first game in Sharjah we don’t have much to go off. Certainly dew has played a massive part in the tournament over the opening weekend and it’ll be very interesting to see do we get dew at Sharjah too. It’s a smaller ground than the others so expect plenty of sixes. We had plenty of high scores in past IPL games here.
The good news we’re set fair for another full game with the weather. That should be the case for the tournament in the UAE.
RECOMMENDED BET:
We landed a nice odds against win with CSK on the opening day, and although they are odds on here I think they will win again. The Rajasthan squad doesn’t look very strong for me domestically – of course they have a wealth of overseas talent but only four can play. I’m not sure they can carry the rest against an excellent CSK team. CSK have an excellent squad suited to most conditions. The tracks might be slow in general in the UAE but before the tournament starts I would expect Sharjah to be the highest scoring venue – however we will start to find out here! For me CSK are the call at 1.87, I’d have them closer to 1.8.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Once again with it being the first game here, the strategy has to be start trading very slowly and see what conditions are playing like. I would expect to see a reasonably high score – higher than the first two days for example – and plenty of sixes. Of course, we could get a horror wicket too! But I would expect batting conditions to be at their best at the start of the tournament.
With this ground having plenty of sixes, that always favours the chasing side and I would look for some trades there. We have seen dew in the UAE too, which again helps the chasing side. We could see a reasonably slow start for the team batting first, and then runs increase in the second half of their innings as the dew falls. With this being the first game, check for dew! It really has the most impact on the game – interesting to see if we also get it here.
