IPL: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s IPL game between Rajasthan Royals v Royal Challengers Bangalore with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

The IPL is back at the Wankhede in Mumbai on Tuesday as Rajasthan Royals take on Royal Challengers Bangalore. It’s been a great start to the IPL this season, and this should be another very interesting game for trading on BETDAQ Betting Exchange . Rajasthan Royals have made an excellent start to the IPL this year after a disaster of a tournament last season when they finished second last. They have batted first both times and put up scores of 210/6 and 193/8 – we’ve seen some impressive batting from Jos Buttler and they’ll be hoping that he can continue his good form right through the tournament!

Royal Challengers Bangalore bounced back from a poor loss in their opening game to bowl Kolkata Knight Riders out for 128 in their second game. That was a badly needed good performance from their bowling line-up, especially after failing to defend 205/2 in their opening game. Perhaps that just highlights again how much of an impact dew will have on the tournament, but I have to say the jury is still out on the RCB bowling. I know RCB are a fan favourite and they will always have a lot of supporters in the market, but Rajasthan have started the tournament very well and I feel the market is wrong here.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We’ve had a range of scores at the IPL this season even though we are rotating around the same grounds. Obviously we are going to move wickets with each game, but I felt we’d see high scoring at the start of the tournament before the wickets get slower and lower as they are played on more. I don’t fully believe that has been the case though as we have had some low scores. We saw a low score of 131/5 in the opening game of the tournament here, and then on Friday Punjab Kings were bowled out for 137 here. However, KKR did chase that within 14.3 overs and when you look at the ground stats from the past here, I would suggest 170 is par. We haven’t seen any score like that here this season though, so an open mind is needed going into the game.

RECOMMENDED BET:

It’s not a surprise to see RCB as favourites here, but I do feel that Rajasthan Royals are the value at 2.25. There’s no getting away from the fact that RCB have some exceptionally talented batters, but so do Rajasthan Royals and the Royals seem to be in superb form too. I still feel the RCB bowling is very poor despite their last performance, and I know Rajasthan don’t have a hugely scary bowling line-up either, I would still have them a lot lower than 2.25. I wouldn’t even complain if both sides were trading very close to 2.0 as that’s how I see the game going, but I also feel there’s more ways Rajasthan can win this game than RCB – they have the openers in superb form and have marginally better bowling in my view. The odds aren’t this far out often, so I’m going to have a Max Bet.

The Edge Says:
Five points win Rajasthan Royals to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore at 2.25 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Given the variance in scoring here so far, I’m definitely going to approach this game in a cagey manner. I always felt this ground was a high scoring venue and we have had signs that it could be, but that has yet to happen in the first innings here. In that sense, I’ll be keeping an open mind on the scoring – usually you’d want to be with both batting sides here looking for trades, but so far this season it has been an advantage to bowl first. That trend can easily continue here so I would go into the first innings avoiding the batting team and if it looks like we have the same conditions then it will pay to be on the bowling team. I do feel the market will favour RCB for most of the game though and as I feel the market is wrong, it will be a case of trying to pick the best times to get on Rajasthan for me.
