MATCH OVERVIEW:
The second game on day two at Queen’s Park Oval is a massive one. After leaving the Brian Lara Stadium these two found themselves with just one win from three games – second and third bottom of the table – only above St Kitts who have been very poor. Yesterday seen a very low scoring affair in the late game and you would imagine another game with very tough batting conditions. Jamaica crawled over the line while Barbados were unable to defend 151 in the early game.
The truth is, looking at both squads they should be higher than they are in the table. Jamaica have some marquee West Indies players in Russell and Brathwaite while they improved their bowling on paper adding Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The reality is the big hitters have failed with tough batting conditions and their bowling is still letting them down. While Cory Anderson didn’t fire for Barbados and Rashid Khan can’t win the game on his own – although he does a very good job of trying!
The loser here will suffer a big blow and with it being a night game that’s difficult for batting, we could see some low scoring drama. The pressure is on. Barbados need a win, Jamaica have a little cushion after yesterday.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
We only have one day of action to go off and the scores last night were very low again with a first innings score of 108/9. That was Jamaica bowling too which was obviously impressive. They have the experience of last night and that should be a big advantage here.
It was really tough to bat in the second game at the Brian Lara Stadium and while it’s still early to judge this wicket – yesterday could be a sign of what’s coming. We shouldn’t judge par on one game, but looking at how difficult it was last night it looks like 135 will be a challenging score to chase.
RECOMMENDED BET:
There’s a lot to play for here between two squads who should be doing better. On the balance of form, I would slight favour Jamaica after seeing yesterday’s games. Mujeeb Ur Rahman played an excellent part and he can deliver again tonight. Barbados not defending 151 yesterday is a worry because on a very tough wicket – any side not defending a decent score have obviously bowled poorly. That was the early game of course when batting has been easier. Over all though, Jamaica have a lot more in their favour for tonight’s game and with a close market, I like them a lot more at 1.95.
The Edge Says:
One point win Jamaica Tallawahs to beat Barbados Tridents at 1.95 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
You will have to pick your spots carefully in this one as we could see some very big market moves. Both sides have players that are massively important and if they fail; we could see market carnage. Clearly Russell is the big wicket for Jamaica, and how Rashid Khan plays for Barbados is vital to their success. That present opportunity, but you will have to make the call at the time as to how they are playing.
Based on yesterday, I would expect another low scorer and the obvious play is to avoid being on the batting team for long. Of course there will be moments of value and good spots to get with a batsmen, but as we saw yesterday and in all the late games, a market moving wicket is never far away. The best opportunities will come on the bowling side.
