WEDNESDAY IPL: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews IPL Game 52 Royal Challengers Bangalore v Sunrisers Hyderabad with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MATCH OVERVIEW:
The days are ticking down at the Indian Premier League now! We move back to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Sunrisers Hyderabad. We have some absolutely massive games this week in the race for the Playoffs, but this one is effectively meaningless as Royal Challengers Bangalore are already in the Playoffs and Sunrisers Hyderabad are nailed to the bottom. That doesn’t make the market any less interesting on BETDAQ Betting Exchange however; as there’s a lot of questions to be answered here. The main one being can the RCB chase down CSK now and get into second place?
For Sunrisers Hyderabad it’s obvious there is something going on at the club. David Warner not playing, something not even at the ground while they are playing, is obviously suggesting problems in the dressing room. They started in India, and although he came back into the side when Jonny Bairstow decided not to travel; that didn’t last long. Given how close he has been with the fans, he has been treated pretty awfully by management and perhaps that decision for Jonny Bairstow was easier than we thought.
For RCB, they play Delhi Capitals in the final group game on Friday so perhaps they could choose to rest some players here. They shouldn’t rest Maxwell however who is in superb form and he could actually fire them to the trophy. He was man of the match again in their last win, and he is striking the ball superbly. AB de Villiers also chipped in with 23 off 18 balls, perhaps a sign he is finding his touch at the right time.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
We saw a very high scoring game here on Saturday as Rajasthan Royals chased down 189/4 by CSK with a whopping 15 balls to spare. That was an incredible game to be honest – I’m sure not many saw that coming at the innings break given the low scores here. The wicket has come a long way since RCB were all out for 92 on the first game here! We had a lot of dew that evening so definitely watch out for that here – I definitely wouldn’t be expecting scores similar to that game, but most of the players thought 160-180 was a good score halfway through that game and perhaps that is right, but dew is such a big factor – that’s why you have a 20 run spread on a good score from the players!
RECOMMENDED BET:
I would definitely keep an eye on the Royal Challengers Bangalore team sheet here because I feel this is a chance to rest players. They won’t want to rest players against Delhi on Friday so close to the Playoffs so today is their chance. That being said, even without Maxwell in this form they are worth backing here at 1.6. I’m happy to keep stakes small given the situation but RCB might want to push for second place in the table which is an obvious target after CSK lost the other day. Sunrisers Hyderabad have a huge amount of issues with their side, and I can only see one winner here.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
The massive chase the other day would definitely make me more cautious heading into this game. The main factor will be looking for dew, and always watch out for how many towels the players are using and how often they are trying to dry the ball. That’s a good tell before the comms mention it and move the market. I would try the first three overs to see do we have another good wicket for batting and go from there. I’d definitely want to be against the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting at the moment, and from an RCB point of view I expect today could be the day AB de Villiers finally comes to the party – he looks to be creeping into form.
