PREMIER LEAGUE FRIDAY: The Striker previews MANCHESTER UNITED v NEWCASTLE with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MANCHESTER UNITED V NEWCASTLE
8pm Boxing Day from the Premier League arrives on Betdaq Betting Exchange, and it’s unlike any other Boxing Day! The way Christmas has fallen we only have one fixture to enjoy – we all lose track of the days over Christmas so this won’t feel like Friday Night Football! While we only have one fixture, we do have a cracker to enjoy as Manchester United host Newcastle. Both sides have been playing good football this season, and their placings in the table haven’t reflected how good they’ve been.
We have an open betting heat – as you would expect with home advantage, Manchester United come into the game as the favourites at 2.5 with Newcastle 2.96 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. Newcastle have really struggled to get over the line in games this season – they have had more success in the Carabao Cup given they are in the Semi-Finals there. They have an average xG created of 1.48 which should have them in the top half of the table. Manchester United record another loss last weekend away to Aston Villa, but for the first time in years there are plenty of positives with this United side.
Obviously they are still making plenty of mistakes, and we had the Sky Sports panel again question the effort of some players at the weekend, but United are creating a huge amount this season. They have an average xG created of 1.82 which is the best attacking figure in the Premier League. Why are they sitting down in seventh then? Well, they are still so sloppy at the back. That’s the next problem Ruben Amorim has to fix – and at times they still look like headless chickens when they come under pressure. They keep conceding goals back-to-back quickly too; as we saw against Bournemouth.
You can make a strong case for both sides here – they are both playing better than their results suggest. From a Newcastle point of view, you can say United have really struggled to win home games under Amorim and perhaps the market should be even more open than it is. I feel we’ll have a very entertaining end-to-end game here, and I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market because this game screams goals. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.71 which looks cracking value in my opinion. Both Teams To Score also offers value at nine ticks shorter at 1.62 – both sides have had very open games this season to be honest. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet, but I’m happy with a confident bet on Overs!
The Striker Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.71 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
