BRENTFORD v ARSENAL: The Striker previews the season opening BRENTFORD v ARSENAL in the Premier League at 8pm on Friday with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BRENTFORD V ARSENAL
8pm The Premier League is back! What a way to kick off with the season with new boys Brentford hosting Arsenal. Even though Brentford are new to the Premier League, they will know all about Arsenal’s problems away from home and I’m sure they will fancy this – what a way to start if they could pull off a win! It’s going to be a very busy weekend as we finally return to a normal Premier League fixture list with multiple games kicking off at 3pm tomorrow. I for one can’t wait to get started, and we should have a fantastic season ahead on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
Of course, we all know Arsenal’s issues. They are trading 1.93 here and that’s going to be more or less their price away from home against these types of teams. Their fanbase is obviously big and demanding, but when you peel away the fans and just look at the facts – they aren’t much better than a mid-table side these days. They finished 8th in 2020/21 and 8th in 2019/20, while you have to go back to 2015/16 for the last time they were a Top Four side. Realistically from a factual point of view, if Arsenal finished in the top six it would be an achievement for them – and ironically their fans probably wouldn’t be happy. With the Harry Kane situation at Spurs they surely have a decent chance to get into the top six again.
A lot of what I’ve just said about Arsenal depends on a good start. The fans are back in the stadium, and we can easily see the atmosphere turn negative quite quickly because of what they’ve been through over the past few years. A win here is massive, because most football fans will expect Arsenal to beat Premier League newcomers. Brentford are no mugs though, and they will be a very good test for Arsenal. They finally made it through the Championship Playoffs last season, and it was fantastic to see them get to the Premier League after so much heartache.
I’m not going to pay any attention to the pre-season friendlies, however I feel it’s safe to assume the players won’t be 100% fit. They will be very close, but not quite match fit yet. I feel it’s reasonable to keep stakes pretty low for the first few weeks; unless a market looks way out of line. Brentford finished the season in the Championship very strongly, but you could say the same about Arsenal as they were out of the top half of the table for most of the season.
It will be very interesting to see how Brentford cope with the adjustment to the Premier League. They have been a solid side in the Championship for a few years, and I expect them to stay up this season although it’s not to see them not being in a fight towards the bottom of the table. The jury is always out on Arsenal for me, and I would have them slightly odds against here. This is definitely a game for small stakes, but Arsenal are worth a small lay at 1.93.

One point lay Arsenal to beat Brentford at 1.93 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
