PREMIER LEAGUE FRIDAY: The Striker previews Friday’s Premier League clash between BRENTFORD v BRIGHTON with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats via FACTMAN.
BRENTFORD V BRIGHTON
8pm Friday Night Football returns in the Premier League this week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We have the clash of the “xG boys” here as Brentford host Brighton. I read an article a week or two ago and it basically rated teams by their shot percentage and shot conceded percentage, and both these sides came out on top. Easy know they are owned by Professional Gamblers! Both sides have been playing some great football this season, and this should be an entertaining game to sit back and enjoy.
While it’s fair to say we all expect Brighton to drop away as the season goes on, they are hanging around the Top Four race for the moment. Obviously losing Graham Potter was always going to be a big blow for them, but they seem to be getting on OK. They managed a very entertaining 3-3 draw at Anfield when returning from the International break, but then lost 1-0 to Spurs last weekend. That was a close game and a good performance – they actually finished with a higher xG figure although it was a game without many chances.
Brentford will be reasonably happy to be sitting in mid-table. At times last season they were “involved” in the relegation battle, but they were actually very comfortable in the end. Obviously Christian Eriksen played a massive role in their improvement – their xG figures were very impressive. They put in so many class performances at home but didn’t get the results to match – it was almost a joke how unlucky they were at home last season! They were poor away last weekend to Newcastle, but their home performances have again been much better this season.
Apart from the Arsenal game where they were completely outclassed, they have beaten Manchester United 4-0, Leeds 5-2 and then had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Everton but finished the game with an xG of 2.57. Fair to say it’s better to judge Brentford on their home form going into this clash rather than their overall form. Brighton have really impressed me this season though – they have had their unlucky results as well – they had to settle for a 0-0 against Newcastle but finished the game with an xG of 1.97 and then lost away to Fulham but created an xG very close to double what Fulham managed.
It’s not surprise that we have a very open market here. As I said above, I can only see a close and entertaining game here. Despite the fact I feel we’ll have a close game between two good sides, I still expect goals. I can see this being a very end-to-end game with plenty of chances. Both sides have been involved in high scoring games this season, and even when we see Under 2.5 goals land it’s always a game that should have had more goals when you look at the xG figures. Over 2.5 goals really stands out here at 2.05 – I am very surprised to see it trading odds against, and it’s a confident Max Bet for me.
The Striker Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals at 2.05 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
