BURNLEY V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm After what has felt like a long summer without football, the Premier League finally returns on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this Friday as Burnley host Champions Manchester City. We could have had a very busy summer of football as it would have been a World Cup summer, but FIFA had different plans and we ended up in Qatar during winter. It’s fair to say the start of the season is always the most exciting time for most clubs – it’s always filled with hopes and dreams – especially the mid-to-lower sides who are expecting “better” football. For Manchester City fans, it’s almost expected they win trophies!

If you believe the betting markets, City will be lifting the Premier League title again this season. They are odds on to win yet another title, and to be honest it’s hard to see past them. Arsenal seem the main dangers, and it’s hard to see them getting such a head start of City this season. City’s early fixture list looks pretty easy on paper – the only question is do they still have the fire in their belly after winning the treble last season? The Champions League was a huge aim for Guardiola, and with that box ticked they “could” start slowly. A quick start and I don’t see how anyone else lives with them to be honest. They are just so many levels above the other sides in the Premier League.

They are the red-hot favourites to start their season with a win here too. City are trading as short as 1.32 at the time of writing to win with Burnley 11.0 and the draw is 6.4. Burnley had a very successful season in the Championship running away with the title, but you can’t get much more difficult fixtures to start life in the Premier League again than City! Burnley have a very solid look about them though, and Vincent Kompany seems to be the perfect fit for them as manager. I feel they will stay up this season, which is always tough after just coming up, and the markets agree with that too as they aren’t one of the favourites to go down.

Burnley finished the Championship last season with over 100 points, an average xG created of 1.6 and an average conceded of 0.9. Decent stats, but you would have to be a little worried about them creating the same level of chances in the Premier League. Being solid at the back will be the key for them this season, and I can’t see them attacking too much here. I can see City having to grind out a hard fought win rather than just blowing Burnley away. I feel City will control the game and have a lot of the ball, and they can keep a clean sheet on the way to winning. Both Teams Not To Score looks a shade of value at 1.71 in my opinion to open the season. It’s great to have the best league in the world back!

The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.71 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
