PREMIER LEAGUE FRIDAY: The Striker previews LEEDS v WEST HAM with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LEEDS V WEST HAM
8pm We have Friday Night Football to enjoy from the Premier League this week on Betdaq Betting Exchange! Leeds host West Ham in what should be a very interesting game – at the start of the season you would have thought Leeds would be under more pressure in the relegation battle compared West Ham, but things are looking quite bleak for the Hammers at the moment. It’s still quite early in the season, but this already feels like a massive game in the relegation battle.
West Ham have been very poor this season; they come into this game sitting in the bottom three with just four points from eight games. If alarms bells weren’t ringing beforehand, they are ringing very loudly now after losing 2-0 at home to Brentford on Monday Night Football. Leeds have managed eight points from their eight games; their sole aim this season was only going to be to stay up – they have a three point cushion at the moment on the bottom three, and they must be surely eyeing up this fixture as an excellent chance to extend that cushion.
Leeds Can still be very pleased with their start to the season. They came into the season as one of the three favourites to go down, now those three clubs are Burnley, Wolves and West Ham in that order. After watching West Ham play on Monday, surely Leeds will smell blood here – this is a proper six pointer given a win is a direct blow to the opposition. Leeds come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.92 with West Ham 4.7 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing.
I said in my preview of Monday Night Football that all eyes should be on the West Ham players effort level, and you have to say it was very poor. There didn’t seem to be much fight at all, and given the fact that we’ve been through a manager change that has to be a massive red flag. Even Nuno seemed a little taken aback in his post match press conference. It’s hard to get away from Leeds here at 1.92 – they have home advantage, the better attacking figure, much better morale and a much better defensive figure too. They tick all the boxes.
West Ham are in the bottom three on attacking figures this season, while Leeds sit in mid-table. The biggest red flag from a West Ham point of view however is how poor they’ve been at the back. They have an average xG conceded of 1.72 which is the second worst defensive figure in the Premier League – only Burnley have conceded more chances. I feel we’re getting a lot of value on Leeds here, and I’m happy with a Five Star NAP!
