LUTON TOWN V WEST HAM

8pm All eyes focus on Kenilworth Road Stadium for Friday Night Football this week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Luton Town host West Ham in their first home Premier League game. As everyone would have saw on social media during the summer, Kenilworth Road needed a huge amount of construction work to bring it up to Premier League standard. They had to postponed their first home game against Burnley on Matchday Two, but thankfully we’re good to go now!

Unfortunately for Luton, it’s not only their home stadium that wasn’t up to Premier League standard at the start of the season. They already sit in the relegation zone having lost 4-1 to Brighton and 3-0 to Chelsea. In fairness, away from home they had two very difficult fixtures – home form will be massively important if they are to stay up this season. If you believe the betting markets though they are heading back down to the Championship – they are already long odds on to get relegated. It’s been a difficult story for West Ham at the start of the season though, another win last weekend means they can go top of the Premier League for the time being if they win here.

West Ham were exceptionally poor away from home last season – they only managed 12 away from home all season and when they drew their opening game of the season away to Bournemouth it looked like they might still have issues away from home. A win away to Brighton last weekend will definitely boost their confidence though, and that’s much needed after losing a player like Declan Rice over the summer. Looking beyond the results though, West Ham have conceded a higher xG figure than they have created in all three of their games this season. If sides had taken their chances against them they could easily be in a very different situation!

Nevertheless, the Hammers come into the game as the odds on favourites. They are trading 1.83 at the time of writing with Luton 4.8 and the draw is 3.9. I’m interested to see how Luton perform with home advantage, and just how good the atmosphere here is. They will need lots of home support this season to get results. West Ham conceded an xG of 2.83 against Brighton last weekend and close to 2.0 against Chelsea so they have been giving away chances. Luton look a poor side, but I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.83 on West Ham here.

There’s not much to rave about in terms of the Luton performances, but I feel they can make improvement at home. With West Ham conceding so many chances, coupled with their poor away form last season I like Both Teams To Score at 1.93 which looks nice value. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here with West Ham so short, and we should see a reasonably open game here.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.93 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
