MANCHESTER UNITED V EVERTON

8pm The Third Round of the FA Cup kicks off on Friday evening on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and we have a very busy weekend ahead! It’s been a hectic schedule for the Premier League clubs since returning to action after the World Cup, and we start the FA Cup with an all Premier League clash as Manchester United host Everton. Frank Lampard comes into this game under immense pressure after Everton lost 4-1 at home to Brighton mid-week, and it feels like he needs a result very soon to stay in the job.

There was even a doubt he would be in charge for this game if you believe what you read on Twitter; and who knows, he might even be gone between the time I write this and kick off! Everton were a shambles against Brighton on Tuesday night; there’s no other way of putting it. They conceded a comical goal from when they had an attacking free kick that no doubt went viral after the game. The only positive thing to say at the moment is that they will welcome the change in competition here, and possibly the fact that ten Hag will choose to rest players.

All eyes will be on what selections hen Hag does make when the team news comes through. From a trading point of view, I think we’ll definitely see some movement in the market around the team news. Manchester United are currently trading 1.52 at the time of writing, and you could say it’s probably unlikely that we see ten Hag name his best starting XI here. United have returned to action in great form and he won’t want to break that momentum, but it is a good chance to rest some players.

Everton have been so bad at the back this season, it’s unlikely that United will need their best XI here too. I don’t doubt that Frank Lampard will name his best XI – a win here would really take the pressure off his club, even if they are in a relegation battle in the Premier League. That loss to Wolves on Boxing Day has really put them under pressure and set the tone for their return. They need something to turn things around.

Obviously given the situation with how most Premier League clubs view the FA Cup these days, especially the early stages, it’s important to keep stakes reasonably small this weekend. It’s hard to see past a United win here, and I’m happy to back them at 1.52. The scary thing from an Everton point of view is that things could be worse than they already are. Their average xG conceded this season is 1.9 per game in the Premier League; whereas they are “only” conceding an average of 1.3 at the moment. United will get a host of chances here, and they can keep their winning run going.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Manchester United to beat Everton at 1.52 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
